Founder Calia italia
Linorio Vicenzo

Born in 1926, Liborio Vincenzo Calia, the founder of Calia Italia, began his apprenticeship at an artisan workshop at a young age. It was there that he learned the craft of carpentry and created various wooden objects, ranging from practical tools to highly decorative pieces that would beautify any home.

At the age of 18, in 1944, he established his own business, and in 1965, he embarked on a research project that ultimately led to the creation of a singular line of products aimed at providing people with a sense of comfort and well-being: upholstered furniture.

Since then, we have been producing sofas with an accessible, democratic design, paying close attention to detail, to material, and delivering them to every corner of the globe.
